A review of The Royalty by Daniel.lewis written on Tuesday 23rd of August 2011
Outside looks like the usual tired façade typical of public houses in the north east, but I will be the first to admit I was wrong in my first impression of the pub. The staff are very friendly (the first for me in this neck of the woods, being a southerner) and special mention should go to the proprietor for her warm and accommodating nature. I honestly believed that we were in for a dire time when we wandered in (ran out of petrol:() however we were made to feel welcome and really enjoyed our time in the royalty. Food was lovely (and plenty of it) and the staff were superb. If you want a good old fashioned pub, and want to avoid the usual chain pub rubbish, cant think of anywhere better in this area. No real ales tho:( .
