A review of Clifton House by Carole written on Monday 21st of July 2008
1st time we have stayed and even tho we only had a twin room it was really nice. This hotel is being refurbished to a high standard and becuse it was fully booked for double rooms then we took the twin en suite. The room was light and modern the bathroom was also modern and very clean. Room was made up every day and there was a TV / DVD palyer, tea making station and hair dryer. The brekkie was very nice wil loaclly sorced ingreients the sasauges in particular where nice and the bacon not cheap salty stuff. You can tell the owners are very proud of this hotel. We found the owners to be very friendly and we wuold visit again. The only little niggle is that there was no small fridge in the room this would have been handy for chilling the bottle of wine i brought but i am sure if i asked they would have let me pop it in the kitchen fridge. The onther small thing was that they put mixed herbs in the mushrooms in the morning it would have been nice to be asked about the herbs as i am a purist and just like mine fried off in a little butter nothing else. But hey maybe I should have said no herbs for me thanks ! it didnt alter the fact that it was a nice hotel to stay in clen friendly and nice food. Location in 5 mins from all attractions. This is one of the best I have stayed in and I have been visiting for 10 years ! .
